Invest In Youth Capacity Building to get the Liberia we all want
27. July 2019 at 12:07
Youth people are very important in nation building . If we as people are to progress, we must invest  in young people capacity building which could yield a higher outcome .  Therefore, at the heart of Liberia's peacebuilding and development process and objectives must lay the ultimate and overriding goal of a youth-centered approach(investing in the young Generation )

Invest In Youth Capacity Building to get the Liberia we all want

I write this not as a partisan of any political party, neither having an interest in being one, but as a young Liberian, a patriotic citizen and a concious minded youth who want the progress of this nation to have a large change on young generations of Liberian's. It has been too long a year we as people have struggled just to put an end to the suffering we have faced over the periods of time.

We have always believed that if we change leadership as people, our problems will be resolved in a faster pace. We have always believed that if we take the mantle as people

with our hands we will resolve all issues we are confronted with. This has been our notions for years after years.

But you will agree with me that the developed World has long found a remedy to this situation.

A situation that has been resolved by potential and able minded men of this generation. Through innovative ideas and creativity,

through molding the young person's mind with entrepreneur and Business oriented solutions.

You will agree with me that young people are the nation's greatest development asset. It is through them that nations can change. They learn to do things quickly and are ready to adjust more swiftly than older generations. Thus, they can provide a solid basis for democratic governance and be key participants in a strategy for transforming socio-political systems and building a sustainable democratic society.

In a country such as Liberia where the youth constitute a large percentage of the human resource , estimated to be about 60-70%, the country cannot experience lasting peace without the popular support and full participation of its youth population, nor can the human and economic conditions improved without the full and effective contribution, creativity and popular enthusiasm of the vast majority of the young people.

I'm not saying Leadership is not a factor or has not been , after all the essence of having leaders is to make the rightful decision and set policies that could benefit every citizens. We are all one way or the other interested in seeing a better and safe Liberia .

The point I'm trying to make is that in our quest of blaming the Leadership for a better Liberia , let us try to diversify our dimension of thinking by investing in our child or children based on different fields of life. going in to the field of Art is good, it is also better to be a politician, it is prudent enough to be an entrepreneur that will aid young Liberians.

An entrepreneur that will provide jobs for young people, an entrepreneur that will help boost our economy, an entrepreneur that will relief some burden of government.

young people in Liberia can be a positive conduit of progress and change. They can be critical agents for constructive community recovery and reconciliation, peacebuilding, and development. We are all one way or the other aware of how significant it is to mold young peoples' minds to reason positively, to think for themselves and to make the rightful decisions. As John F. Kennedy said in his famous quote " Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource".

If we as people are to progress, we must invest in young people capacity building which could yield a higher outcome . Therefore, at the heart of Liberia's peacebuilding and development process and objectives must lay the ultimate and overriding goal of a youth-centered approach(investing in the young Generation ).
