I was just a small kid when I wrote a facebook post that would ultimately change how I viewed life. I was there, inside my room, writing about my grandmother who was confined in the city's hospital. I remember writing continuously as if my mind were a stream that flowed freely with thoughts and feelings—there I realized the true meaning of writing. This moment deemed very memorable to me.
With utmost surprise, my aunt and my mother found out about the post almost instantly and was amazed at the level of skill in my writing. From that day on, they encouraged me to continue expressing myself through writing.
I hope every child is able to have the same encouragement I had in order to continue pursuing what they really love to do. Many would regard writing as something futile or perhaps inferior compared with other crafts of life. But in truth, it is in this practice that we are able to bear fruit of our emotion and thereby forge a voice that would mold our society.
