Despite knowing these consequences drugs are increasing steeply and deeply in nerves of our youth. Indeed, Drugs have become a parameter which are used to judge that how much person is independent or mature. Moreover, nowadays, the fashion is judge by the amount and kinds of drugs that one takes.

It is sad to tell you people that the future of our country(PAKISTAN) is at stake. Because the future of any country base on its masses. According to UN report, there are 7.6 million drug addicts in Pakistan. But the actual number of drug addicts are much higher than the UN report. Unfortunately, Drugs have spread in the nerves of most of our youth. Our youth consider drugs as a fashion. Most of the youngsters feel proud and overwhelmed while taking drugs. No doubt drugs give the relaxation of time being but the consequences of forever.

“Addiction is the only prison where the locks are inside”. But hardly few just come out of this prison. Drugs causes so many diseases like: mental illness, lungs cancer, mouth cancer and many more. Despite knowing these consequences drugs are increasing steeply and deeply in nerves of our youth. Indeed, Drugs have become a parameter which are used to judge that how much person is independent or mature.

Moreover, nowadays, the fashion is judge by the amount and kinds of drugs that one takes. It is our misfortune that most of our youth is holding a cigarette in one hand and a drink in other hand instead of holding the future of country. The question just hit my mind that “if our youth become drug addict then who will run the country?” it is the matter of utmost importance which is being ignored nowadays. At first, “addiction is maintained by pleasure but the intensity of that pleasure gradually diminishes and the addiction is then maintained by the avoidance of pain.” There are two types of perspectives present in our society related to drugs, one is of youth and the other is of seniors and Elders.

Firstly, let me tell you the perspective of our youth about drugs. Most of them consider it as enjoyment and fun. And some of them think that drugs make them cool and fashionable. And it gives them a sense of independence and maturity. And some call it time pass. The thing which gives them these type of senses is none other than our media. Because the media has always influence over the minds people, especially on youth.

Nowadays, in most of movies and dramas it is shown that main characters holds cigarette in their hand or other type of drugs. And we all know that if actors and actresses do anything it becomes fashion. So, our youth tries to go with fashion without knowing the goods and bad. And they are going towards the disaster. Despite knowing that “drugs are not cool, they just make them look like a fool.”

Now come to the perspectives of our seniors and elders. They say that “life can take youth higher than the drugs.” It is a bitter truth that most of drug addicts take birth in schools, colleges and universities. There was a time when students were curious to learn new topics but now most of the students are curious to taste a new drug. Our societies and clans are in despicable condition. And our novice children see our youth taking drugs and probably get affected by this anomalous condition.

Moreover, “drugs never enhance our performance.” It not only diminishes our working and thinking ability but it also shortens our life. There is only a fake relief and hangover of time being in drugs. Moreover, drug addicts start suffering from a severe pain in the early age. The complex diseases builds its roots in the body. Another bitter reality is that a drug addict never suffers alone but a whole family suffers. Just because of a one person.

In the end, “drugs are the enemies of ambition and hope and if we fight against drugs it means we are fighting for our future". Drug is not only an addiction but it is one of the heinous crimes. People are taking drugs with impunity. It is staggering that our protectors (police) are not paying heed to the rampant crime. The police should nab the drug dealers and sent them behind the bars.

Moreover, the schools, colleges and universities have to take the agonizing decisions to stop this crime. Also parents should have a vigilant eye on their children for their betterment and exuberant future of their children. Also the youth should improve their will power to open the locks of the prison in which they are for so much time, not only for their betterment but for the development of our state. We believe that these things will not only curb the addiction but will end it.
