Darsh Patel
International Youth Journal Author Darsh  Patel
Darsh N. Patel is an 11th-grade student dual-enrolled at the Davidson Academy and the University of Nevada, Reno, where he is taking higher-level university courses in computer science, mathematics, statistics, and economics. Outside of his intense course load Darsh involves his school and community in recycling over 150 lbs of used batteries. Additionally, he tutors higher-level courses for the UNR Math Center. Impacting the Reno community, Darsh is spearheading a project that provides winter footwear to the homeless so that they do not lose toes or feet to severe frostbite.
He received the presidential silver medal for volunteering at Lemelson Elementary, a title 2 school. During the summer Darsh volunteers to teach chess at a local library and helps fundraise for Northern Nevada Math. He was won numerous awards in math and art competitions at the local and national levels. His research paper’s abstract submission The Mathematics of Fractal Art was accepted by WASET.
