Since reading the opening lines of Saida Hagi-Dirie Hirzie’s Government by Magic Spell, Magayu K. Magayu’s Do You Know Anybody?, and watching the Trojan tragedy unfold before me, the literary world has always fired my imagination. I am delighted and moved by the blend of humor and sincerity in addressing pertinent social, political and economic issues affecting our society. The ability to portray the entire scope of human emotion and experience; a portrayal to which we can still relate. I have enjoyed the early attempts to rationalize the universe and how the Socratic concept of morality has always conflicted with established values. These moral issues extend to the present day,. I do like the way a mind can probe issues and the outcomes benefit humanity.
